What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers and other parts of plants. These pure extracts from plants are 50-70 times more powerful than herbs and they have been used throughout history in many cultures for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.
Essential oils do not replace conventional medicine, however they can provide a natural alternative to support the body with many everyday physical and emotional health issues. I strongly believe that there are certain circumstances where modern medicine is absolutely necessary (if I was hit by a bus I wouldn’t be going home and applying essential oils, I’d be visiting the nearest hospital!), however, we can empower ourselves to support our bodies with many everyday issues using essential oils as a safe, effective, and affordable alternative to synthetic remedies.
How can I use dōTERRA’s Essential Oils?
Where do I start?! There is quite literally an oil for almost everything! From digestive support to respiratory support, immune support, support with skin issues, sleep issues, pain (muscular or nerve), focus and concentration, weight loss, detox, energy and vitality, hormonal issues or emotional support (e.g. calming, uplifting).
I use essential oils to replace toxic chemical household products by making my own safe, natural and effective cleaning and personal care products. I replace toxic, endocrine (hormonal system) disrupting, synthetic fragrances in my home by diffusing essential oils in an ultrasonic diffuser and receive the added therapeutic benefits that come with aromatic use of these Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) essential oils. Be sure to always use an ultrasonic diffuser when using these oils aromatically rather than a traditional oil burner, as heating the oils destroys their therapeutic properties. The dōTERRA Difference
What makes dōTERRA’s essential oils different from other essential oils on the market and why do I choose dōTERRA? There are several other reasons why I choose to use dōTERRA’s essential oils, including their unrivalled purity and potency (i.e. therapeutic value). Their essential oils are subjected to very stringent testing, both in-house and by multiple independent third parties, to ensure the purity and potency of the oils. This rigorous testing ensures the oils are free of synthetic fillers, pesticides and other chemical residues. There is nothing but 100% pure essential oil in each dōTERRA bottle. An essential oil’s therapeutic value is determined by its chemical composition and this is influenced by lots of different factors like the part(s) of the plant from which the oil was produced, soil condition, fertiliser (organic or chemical), geographic region, climate, altitude, harvest season and method, and distillation process.
